Consortium led by TTC MARCONI won a contract worth 2.1 billion crowns to modernize the Czech energy sector

Over the next six years, the consortium led by TTC MARCONI will equip 20,000 distribution stations (DTS) of ČEZ Distribuce with remote measurement technologies and build a data center that will enable the processing and analysis of data from these stations.

Together with our Czech partners, we have developed a comprehensive solution that enables the collection of data from tens of thousands of measuring points within the energy grid, their transfer to data warehouses and subsequent processing. This solution is an important step towards the transition to decentralized power system. It enables further processing and analysis of the data collected, and subsequently managing the distribution system according to them so as to ensure its stability,” says Josef Šelepa, Executive Director and CEO of TTC MARCONI. “The development and preparation of the project took almost four years. The result is a solution that is so far unique in its scope, at least in the region of Central Europe. Therefore, I believe that it has an interesting export potential, not only for us, but also for other companies that have participated,”adds Josef Šelepa.

The modernization of the grid itself will take place from 2022. Up to 25 transformer stations will be upgraded daily. By 2025, all 20,000 DTS will be equipped with measuring and communication sets. In addition, the consortium led by TTC MARCONI will also build a data center for ČEZ, where data obtained from tens of thousands of points will be collected and analyzed.

The consortium includes TTC MARCONI, Schrack Technik, MicroStep – HDO, Mycroft Mind, ELCOM, Teco and TRANSTECH CZ. As suppliers, a number of mainly Czech companies take part in it (among others K. M. B. systems, MEgA – Measuring Energy Devices).
